Good Neighbors

Sure makes you feel good when you have a good neighbor. Friday I decided to take 6 on my 9 year old sons All Star baseball team to town to the batting cages.

It has been raining here like crazy we got over 20 inches of rain in June and norm is 3 inches. One of the kids that I took was a neighbor kid that lives about 2 miles down the road. His dad dropped him off at the house.

Well due to all the rain our 1/4 mile driveway that drains down hill to the road was so bad you almost had to have a 4x4 to get down it. Some veins were probably a foot deep. I was going to wait till it stopped raining (which we got more today and still have more in forecast) and then have some rock hauled in and redo the whole driveway.

Well when we got home later that night from the batting cages and stopping to eat some Buffalo Hot wings with the kids. My driveway was perfect, It looked like I hired a professional to fix it. He not only filled in the ruts but he leveled and scraped the whole 1/4 mile.

Makes you feel good to know you have neighbors like that around you!! I tried to pay him for it but he would not hear of it!

Send him my way! I've been told that it looks like Ray Charles has worked on our drive when I get one. It's goten to be a standard term, "Think I'll go Ray Charles the drive", "just finished Ray Charlesing the drive", etc.

after i did that for one of my nieghbors i didnt even hear from em for over a week. and he never even offered to buy my fuel. i wasnt lookin for any anyhows just wouldve been nice to have it offered.
the other nieghbor brought me a 12 pack and a whole bunch of venison sausage my dogs promptly ate whe i got up for another beer....but it was all good

by the way dun the first guy is the same guy i told ya the fishin story about...shame on me twice..im alittle slow i guess

Out of all the members of our exstended family and all the neighbors we have, only one offered to help us out after my father in law passed away. Love that guy and his wife. We know we can count on their helping us out if we ever needed it.
Unless there is a fire, nuts to the rest of them.
