Time to go to work!
Took 4 cull bulls and a cow to Kamloops sale as there won't be one in WL until late July. Cattle sold well considering the crew neglected to pull them off feed in early morning. Came home with 6 steers and 3 older pairs that my buyer friend had stranded in WL yards. 1600 lb cows with 200 lb calves beside them. Swing bags, bad feet. Gave $3000 per pair. Similar cows going to kill were $1.80+
A ring full of 649 lb steers brought $4.55 and 10 fleshy heiferettes weighing 1227 fetched $2.50.
Branded and vaccinated them all and the second last little bunch of later calves. Finished calving yesterday also. We could still use some rain.
