Does anyone give a shot of gnRH at the time of inserting cidrs? 7 day cidr protocol then heat detect. I see the magazines say not to do this for heifers, only cows. What does everyone do?

Cows - no cidrs - gnRH shot... then day 7 Lute... watched for heat and A.I. bred with gnRH shot...
then about 76 hrs after Lute timed A.I. breeding of those not observed in heat and gave gnRH shot

conception rate on cows 63.63% (90.91% on observed heat A.I. and 44.44% on timed A.I. breedings)
Very surprised we got 90% on observed heats... got lucky... I doubt it will be that good again.

NO cidrs on Heifers same protocol (Not Recommended) but tried it anyway (4 heifer sample test) 50% conception
100% on observed heats 0% on timed breedings :(

GnRH when cidr goes in and Lute when it goes out, GnRH at insemination time.

That's what I've done the last two breedings. I've got small herd, but had 100% conception. Breed 60hrs after pulling cidr and lute shot.
