May I ask why you do not ultrasound your bulls? Wouldn't that make them more valuable?

Ultrasound is a tool that we need to put in our tool box, to be honest it is one of those things that we have talked about getting done, but just haven't managed to yet. Do you have all of your bulls scanned and if so at what age do you scan them?

Sorry , I missed answering this post.
We ultrasound all males and females and all registered and xbreed. I Love to compare data so I take all I can. Ultrasound is taken at yearling - Angus.org has a info page on the window of ages allowed.
We have the ultrasound guy out first then a few days later the vet comes for yearling weights, scrotal, pelvic (both sexes), vaccinations, hip height . Ultrasound is first so animals are not afraid from the vets probing! ;-)
It is really eye opening and helps with improvement of carcass qualities
