Giving small calves shots?

Always hated giving IM shots to small calves that just don't have much muscle. The SQ shots are easy but the IM on calves that are skin and bone what do other do?

In the neck, same as subQ

I give almost everything Sub Q and always in the triangle on the neck.

I even give synchrony drugs sub Q even though all lables call for IM.

Use a shorter needle, and give them in the neck. Best to follow label instructions!

Absolutely...there is a reason it says to give it in the muscle.

IM shots reach the bloodstream more quickly than subq. You should do what the label says, since some drugs aren't as effective if given by the wrong method. Some drugs can be dangerous if administered by the wrong method. Vaccines can cause serious muscle damage and be less effective or ineffective if given IM. Ivermectin can cause fatal infections if given IM.
