In my openion they were better cattle in those days. They were the cattle that the Angus breed built their reputation on. I would be willing to bet that a lot more of those cattle would meet CAB specs than the Angus of today (percentage wise). Back then we did not have EPD's we relied on carcass evaluation and a good eye.
