Well I thought of that too but he could have ask someone to do it.
 
Likely a good thing he didn't kill the cow, if he had she would most likely been dragged off without knowing she had rabies. The old boy may be taking rabies treatment along with nursing broke ribbs.
 
I hope I am never in his shoes but you better believe if I am, the vet won't be putting that cow down. I will! This is the second article on this story that I saw. I can't remember which article it is but one of them said the man would have to take the rabies treatments
 
The poor fella...heck of a way to end your cattle career, isn't it?

In 2011, Virginia had 11 confirmed cases of rabies in cows.

No joke. Also noticed the reporter spelled herd ( heard) maybe he heard the three shot's.

I didn't think that cows were susceptible to rabies since it never seems to be stressed in vaccination regimens, but maybe there was more truth to the story of "Ol Yeller" than I had thought. Wow, 11 cases here in Virginia. I guess I better hit the cows with RABVAC this spring like I used to do with the horses.
