Louisville, Ky has a neighborhood "Butchertown". I've been there many times. The former Bourbon stockyards was there, until the value of the property was greater than the value of the business. JBS Swift hangs on there with a slaughterhouse. Why do people move to "Butchertown" and complain of the smell?

I don't get that logic either. Whether it be a plant or a feed lot, if it was there first then it should enjoy special consideration. I'm also sure the plant was there before they ever formed the air quality department. The smell/noise or whatever at the time of the creation of that board should be the base line.
