I've seen several flocks of Canadian Geese flying around, isn't there an old wives tale that this early its going to be a long, hard winter? I just love to see them though, they are so cool, and usually can be heard before seen. A flock landed in the pond down the road, and just sat there, until the beagle saw them, and off they went.

Shoot them please - they are so numerous as to be considered vermin in Canada.

Snows are even worse.

Well, they are still here and it is an unusual but very very welcoming warmth with a balmy high 20's Celsius temp all this week..

Been pretty cool spring, so alot of our birds are not fully grown. Saw a couple of young ducklings this afternoon.
Yes the geese have been moving around here too. Saw them starting a few weeks ago.

yes they are starting to migrate i'm sad to say. you can smell fall in the air here too. i counted 300 and something canadas in the pasture the other day before i lost count. also other storky type birds are moving thru.

Shoot them too, please. :cowboy:

True fall is here the dogwoods and gum are turning red, walnut trees have lost their leaves.
The cattle are out chasing acorns and up all day grazing and will go through any palace in the fence that is weak. Haven't seen any geese go over, but have noticed the humming birds migrating also the butterflies.

You must be a lot farther north then we are. The only thing changing colors here is the sumac. Hummers are still in full force, over run with butterflys, acorns have only started dropping off of 2 trees that I've seen so far. The only leaves missing from the walnuts is where the caterpillars ate them off the ends of the branches.

Really???? We must have fall here all the time as I see these buggars every day. Last year I had a pair hatch a few youngn's on our property and our kids thought it would be fun to catch them young. Result.......... they could go fast enough to keep up with them long legged brutes.

They don't seem to migrate from here we have them in the park all year around. Had one bite me on the bum while feeding the ducks, the children thought it was funny.
