Just can't stand it...Turned the cows on the oats this morning and thought to myself...feels like rain is in the air. Supposed to have a 50%chance but who the hell believes something like that anymore.

Well, I just finished tossing $2100 worth of fertilizer on pastures that are hard as a brick...(dam the small tractor) and radar does show a line of something out around Austin now heading this way...

Anyone want to wager it don't make it?

PS Austin is about 70 miles s-west of here.

Well it did make it...rained about 3 minutes and the sun is shining. Doubt the spiders living in the rain guages ever new it rained.

haha...3way, you need to guard those good luck wishes a little closer and don't waste them on me!

My new plan is to fertilize right after a rain. It seems like when the rain comes its for a month or a couple weeks then goes dry for several months.

I understand your thinking...Personally, if you "chart" the rains, we are a cycle of about 6 weeks "wet"* and 6-7 weeks DRY with the last "wet"* period starting Christmas Eve. Weather idiots seem to think is is supposed to start raining in March (unless they have recently changed their minds). It did feel like rain and a half inch goes a pretty good way this time of the year (had we gotten that). Getting to be corn planting time around here so thought it might be worth the risk of crapping out. As usuall...I crapped out.

* - "wet" - periods of time when the askholes predict "rain" AND there are actually clouds in the sky...
