Does anyone on here sell any furs ?
sold mine Sat. at the Oklahoma Fur Bearers auction and they were down for the most part compared to last year, except for Coyote. My best Bobcat this year was 140.00 last year I my best was 225.00 last year my Coyotes brought 15.00 this year my best was 26.00 , he was very nice for Okla.
coons around 6.00 , beavers aruond 8.00, skunks 3.00. this was what mine brought but I dont know that I saw a bobcat bring 200.00 this year but I saw a bunch of them bring it last year

You can think the mink farms overstocking the Chinese, maybe next year will be back up, usually does go in waves.
My furs are getting shipped on April 3rd, to NAFA. Just sending 2 dozen coons and a handful of rats.

Coon hides must be down $6 is cheap when I was a kid they would bring $15-$25 but that was back in the 70's.

I think the price of your $6 coon is because of the area or the size. I sold my NE Ohio muskrats this year for $9 and xxl coons brought $20 and of course the good ole possum that brings about the same today as it did 20 years ago, got $4 for it. NAFA should be bringing more than what I sold mine for locally.

Prices are about the same here. I do not however sell fur but sell to a older man and thats in line what he offers me for fur.

we have sold fur since lates 1970's had some sure enough good coondogs so we sold lots of coons hides . We ,grandpa and me, sold abunch of coons for 25.00 -- 27.50 oar possum in the late 70' and early 80's were 3.00 now if they will take them about .25 is max ,I wont skin one for that, I heard someone say there was a kid at the Chandler auction with over 100 possum skined and stretched that they gave him 1.00 ea.
I sell everythimg green and seems like they will give just as good for a bobcat not even skinned as they will if you skin them??

Have nexer shipped to HAFA but that may be the way to go would like some more info on how its done
I guess you have to stretch and dry ?? would not care to do that if it is worth my time , I dont do this to make alot of money mostly just for the enjoyment of the outdoors.

There is almost as much money made in properly prepping fur as there is in harvesting it!
Exactly when you get 4-5 dollars green or 15-35 put up I believe ill put mine up

When I was much younger and the fur prices much higher, we used to sell on the carcass. Also as a teenager, you'd worked for the fur buyer around the corner, he'd pay you a couple bucks for fleshing each coon or trade you some traps. Those were the days. We filled up 55 gallon drums of coon carcasses. Now, with the price of fur, most local fur buyer are gone so its a must to put up your fur vs green. Too much money lost selling green and arguing if your rat or coon is a xl or a xxxl. It was only a few years ago, a xxl coon only brought $7-$10 put up and they wouldn't even buy if from you unless it was stretched and fleshed.

I sold coon top of $15 same on coyotes. Bobcats topped for me at $90 and fox at $75. Otters averaged $60 and beaver was $8 (only had a few and most were smalls). Nobody would buy skunks and I got $1 out of possums. Prices were higher in December but of course I didn't sell until the first of February. I know if I took the time and effort to finish my fur and ship it I could do better but I just have to many things to do already. By the time I skin it and get it to a freezer that is about all the time I have. I turn my 10 year old loose skinning possums or I would just throw them in the ditch and he has started on coons and yotes. I didn't get many skunks and was really upset that I couldn't even get a $1 for skinning the little stinkers. Wouldn't make that mistake again.

For me to put the skins up I would have to sell some place other than these auctions in Okla.because I saw a bunch of furs put up and they dont do any better
One man had like 30 coons that were grouped into 2 groups they were put up and they were larges and xlarges sold for like 10.00 to 12.00 my green coons that were smalls and med. avg 6.00
seems like our market is for Bobcats there were 15 buyers and about 8 of them the main thing they want is the cats
the other stuff I saw sell was fox 20.00 - 30.00
badger 17.00-- 20.00
meek 15.00
otter 40.00 way down from last year
beaver castor around 10.00 per pound
