I don;t recall who they were, but several people asked about the freezing this week and what it did/would do to the fescue and OG that I drilled a couple of months ago.
I'm pleased to report that the freeze apparently didn;t hurt it at all. I have little straight lines of fuzzy grass about an inch tall in all of the fields I drilled.

ditto here. I think the soil was warm enough to save it.
some laid down and looked set back but didn't turn color or dry out.

Spring has been slow coming this year in my area. I sowed fescue, white and red clover last month and I'm still waiting to see some growth. I'm down to about a weeks worth of hay now, need to see some growth soon. Old growth is starting to green up and I can see the bare patches filling in so I'm still hopeful although had another frost last night. Come on warm weather!!!

Dun -
You said you had straight lines of fuzzy grass - did you really mean fuzzy lines of straight grass ?????
My drivin' usually yields lines with a little wobble - I blame it on the tractor not trackin' just right but nobody believes me !

sounds like the timing was right sometimes a good freeze and thaw are more beneficial to a young plant than people realize
