I helped a guy brand his catttle he used dry ice and i think methanol cost was around 60 dollars i can get the same amount of liquid nitrogen for about 25 dollars i want to do mine but im not sure about the liquid nitrogen does it evaporate quicker how long do you hold the irons on i know 75 sec on dry ice. Maybe someone has used both pros and cons on each.

I have never used either one on cattle but I use to use it for my hounds when I ran coon dogs and deer dogs. I had a chart that came with the brand and it showed dry ice to take longer than nitrogen also the color ,age ,and skin thickness all made a differance. I had a vet that I hunted with some that got pretty good at it. I know this is not much help but maybe its a starting point -- good luck
