This probably shouldnt go in here, but I didnt know where to put it.
There is a gal who owns approximately 35 acres that buts up to my folks property. (I will have access to my folks property come 08.') Currently leased to another rancher to run cattle. Anyway, I spoke with her over the holiday and asked her about leasing her 30 acres and a gorgeous barn. She said I could have it for free as she likes the grass kept down. I cant take something for nothing, so how would you suggest I compensate her?

P.S. I will be running replacement heifers on her place.

Pay her the going rate, keep the place neat , visit with her from time to time and you'll get to keep it. Freeloaders, voluntary or involuntary, don't have a very long shelf life in the realestate rental business.

I told a couple of my renters that on tuesday. Some people cease to amaze me.

Ollie is 100% correct.
We have some pasture we rent like this. She won't take any folding money but is never in need of beef, deer or pork. We visit with her often and she loves to see the kids school papers.
Hubby takes her out to the pasture when the cows are calving. She likes to see the calves running and playing.

She also likes the place to be neat and upkept. We brush hog the weeds and never let equipment sit around.
