I finally gave up trying to get pics in the photo gallery. Giving photobucket a shot now.

I may be missing it since we don't have a rear shot; but he looks thick to me. I think we would be all ooohing and ahhhing about his thickness and muscle expression if he had been eating out of a bucket and had laid 25 pounds of fat on those thighs (like every good show calf) instead of working his butt off (literally) out on grass with the cows.
His nutts look adequate (do we have a measurement), and I don't have any problem with his head shape or size. I can't tell anything about rib shape or spring of rib; but he looks deep enough to me. If I was going too fault him I would like a little more length, a little more substance of bone, and that front shoulder looks a little coarse in that shot (could be the way the light is hitting it). In short, good, rugged beef bull.

Brandon, I agree with you, I see muscle expression on the outer thighs, forearm and point of shoulder and if its there, its usually is everywhere.

This is the only semi-rear shot I have of him, lost most of my pics in the great computer crash of '06. 
He was coming two yrs old in that pic. He was a purebred Simmental, MV Red Light 406D son, MGS was a Red Eyed Jack son. We like the traditional red Simms with the spots and ribbons. It doesn't show in the pics but he had a white star on his forehead. Right at half his calves were solid red or black and the rest had a little chrome. He sired 72 calves for us over 3 breeding seasons (6 still to go this spring) - 41 heifers, avg BW 72#, 31 bulls, avg BW 78#. We pulled two of his calves, a 102# bull calf from a BA/Char cross heifer, and a hiplocked 77# heifer (hand twist). His daughters tend to grow off better than his sons and we retained 7 heifers from last years crop and will be keeping another half-dozen or so this year. I don't recall his scrotal measurement but we picked him out at 8 months, bought him at 14 months and there were no problems with his BSE. After testing him, the vet bought a bull from the same breeder. He was taken care of but never pampered by his breeder or us.

I'd have no meat on my ass either if I had to take care of 72 girlfriends, i've gotten into enough trouble just taking care of 2! I mean 1.....

I think that he is very nice for the amount of work he is doing. Being a Red Light bet that his daughters will be excellent cows for you. I am a big fan of the red traditionals in the simm breed. Hope you found a good one to replace him.
I would think 72 cows over 3 seasons really isn't that much work. He don't look like any Sim I ever saw ... even though he may be.....

He got by mainly on that nasty fescue grass and loose minerals. His grain consisted of a 5 gallon bucket of sweet feed or range cubes split among the entire herd once or twice a week to keep them coming in to the working pens. My primary objective was to learn how to post pics but I do appreciate the comments.
