I hope someone likes it. Even better someone adds to it. Some of the photos are of plants, past their prime. Photo's taken with cell phone. Something besides politics anyway.
Coastal Bermuda on right, common on left.

King ranch bluestem
Johnson grass.
Annual ryegrass.
Speargrass/ Texas winter grass
Klein grass

Bahia. You can always tell it by the forked seed head. Its called poor man's grass. What it lacks in nutrition it more than makes up for in its long growing season and its self reliance. BTW - this is what happens when you put your tire in a fire ant mound on a wet day.

More bahia

Bigfoot...do you graze the Sudex?

Thanks,

Tim

Hay, 75% of the time, and graze 25%. This year, I am cutting it. I don't feed it to cows and calves, just stockers.

Good post. I'm into plant ID (native and tame, at least what to expect doing rangeland studies), so it's interesting to see what forages are grown a bit further south. What about lespedeza?

WW bdahl bluestem. A improved Bluestem. To appreciate this , realize this yesterday in central Texas, and this pasture has been grazed lightly early summer.
Any one looking for a good heat tolerant grass , that can be established with very little inputs. Should look into this. It's been good to me.....It also repels fire ants.

Like this thread. Anyone got pics of ky bluegrass, thick fescue, and smooth bromegrass? Cool season stuff to add to all this warm season crabgrass? Gonna sow something in fall for spring and fall and would like to see what i want and need. .
And what is this that grows so thick in my yard? These are in 2 diff spots and seem to be different species of maybe fescue..? 1 and 2 are same. 3 and 4 same.
