for Ouachita

mid 1971 thru early 1973, I taught an electronics class right beside the ADR school Aviation Machinist Mate (Reciprocating Engine mech and aviation structural mechanic) at NAS/NATTC Millington Tenn. Several times/month, one of my collateral duties was to go out with the ADR/AME instructors and their class to start, then teach the students how to use hand directions to taxi around some of the old but still used in service as trainers, propeller driven aircraft. One week might be the old recips next week would be the A-4s.

That was about my only enjoyable break from a very tedious and boring last 18 months of USMC.

Memories. Like first sight of a beautiful naked arse…. Never know what it’s going to bring. Heaven or Hell? Maybe a little of both.

I had seen plenty of recip/piston aircraft even before that.
Skyraiders, Bird Dogs were everywhere. o2s and right across the runway from our line was AirAmerica and they flew whatever they could get. The Koreans and ARVN at our base flew a variety of old stuff and hand me down newer stuff.
