With our open winter a lot of the cows just stayed up in the hill. The great white cowboy seems to have taken the year off. Friday B's cowboys came down out of the hills on tired horses pushing 3 cows and 2 calves. They put them in my corral. The cows were fat and the calves are big and fat. I asked where they found them. The answer was the top of Sinker canyon. That is well over 4,000 feet. Normal winter there would be over 2 feet or more of snow up there by now. One of the guys said there is a lot of feed up there. So yesterday B's son took a helicopter ride. Said they located over 60 +cows spread out over an area that is probably 20 or 30 square miles. Little bunches of mostly 5 or 6 to the biggest of 10 head. But they know the general locations to search. So the cowboys are going to be getting a lot of time in the saddle this next week or two. Normally if you find cows in the hills here in February they will look like survivors from a nazi concentration camp. But this year they are coming in fat.
