Fly tags?

We have never used flytags before and wondered about there use. We have just used rubs, fly bullets around mineral feeders and spray them when theings got real bad. Also used fly mineral. We work in early May usually and wondered if that is too early for fly tags. If you use them do you change brands of tags each year? Since we would have left over tags will they keep? Do you tag calves? One or two tags per cow?

Just wondering if I can improve my fly control and stay cost effective.

Used fly tags for the first time last year. I used Avenger tags. I used one tag per cow and one per calf. Put them in the end of April. I was pleased with how well they worked. I suppose it would take a couple years to get a real good idea how they work as last year wasn't the worst for flies in my area. I guess I feel they are reasonably priced for the amount of control I get.
