I am feeding a mineral to cattle to help prevent flies. Does anone know of a mineral or feed that prevents flies in horses?

Equine garlic added to your regular feed every day works fairly well, but you can't feed it to nursing mares.
There are also several feed-through fly controls that I'm told work well IF you start feeding them early in the spring. Waiting until the flies are a problem to start them greatly reduces their effectiveness.
