I got a call tonight to see if we could take 2 fuel trucks to Milwaukee because of the flooding. We probably won't be going but who knows. When i looked it up there are a lot of states that are getting a lot of rain. Is anyone here getting flooded?
Looks like Wisconsin. Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, and part of Nebraska are getting hit.

Lucky we dodged the heavy rain. I think a lot of it stayed on the Iowa side and crossed over farther north then hit WI.
It was close enough that you could hear the thunder and see some lightning but I bet we didn’t get 1/2”

Here I am driving the spray rig back and forth on the driveway to settle the dust. No joy.
I’ve been running a sprinkler to help settle a new pad for a shop building. We’ve had good and timely rains this year, up until about three weeks ago. Then the dog days of summer arrived.B9D3E537-A1CA-497A-B700-9D921C271826.jpeg

Major wildfires in one part of the country, flooding in another and a hurricane headed toward the east coast. A lot of folks suffering from mother nature.

We have been abnormally wet this summer. But it has been a case of which cloud are you under. One place will get a big dump of rain and a mile down the road it is dry as can be.

We are about 2 inches behind our average rainfall for the year but for being August, the grass is in the best it's been in quite some years. I've recorded 33 days where I've gotten 1/10th of an inch or more. Rained 8 days in July for a total of 3.25 inches. I always speak of "timely rainfall". Pretty much been that way this year. Just enough in the nick of time. Very little gone down the creeks which means the tanks are still 7-8 foot low. Temperatures have been nice too.

No flooding here. We only got 1.5", the greatest damage I saw in the neighborhood was a couple of washed out driveways. Might take a drive to Green bay this afternoon to look at some heifers. I expect to at least see some high rivers.

If I had all the money in the world I still couldn't buy a rain. We have only got about 4/10ths all summer. Lander got more than what we did, and you cross the border into Nebraska it is green over there. Last week I was in Lyman Nebraska, the father east I drove the greener it got. It looks like fall here already. We have trees that the leaves are starting to turn.

We call them heat showers. They randomly pop up here and there, no rhyme or reason to where and when. You are just hopeful you get some. Both of my neighbors got rain and the live with in .10th of a mile away in 2 different directions on 2 different days and not a drop here

The wisconsin state fair got the brunt of the storm. Over 10" of rail fell quick, flash flooding, people trapped, the whole works. Some neighbors were there and said it was chaos, wading thru waist deep water to get out to their car, then hours trying to get out around the flood waters. The rest of the fair was canceled because most of it was underwater.
