Just finished worming the cow's earlier than usual. I don't think I have ever seen flies as bad this early in the year here.

Same thing here C.B. the flies are bad but the skeeters are worse. I guess it come with rain.

Saw a case of anaplasmosis in a cow last week - don't have any way of knowing if it was tick-transmitted, or if they worked the herd 6 wks or so ago and transmitted it from a carrier animal by using the same needle going down the line...
Early April...I don't usually start seeing anaplaz cases until on into August...

I have not seen any horn flies yet but the nats have been terrible for several weeks. I bought a protein tub with a IGR today but a cold front is pushing through right now and it's supposed to drop the temps into the 30's tonight so maybe it will slow them down some.

Flies aren't to bad so far...but I do need to get all the ropes charged up.

No horn flies here but gnats and those big green flies are plentiful. Already seeing horseflies too. I hate to see what May and June will be like.

I live in NE Texas and the flies were terrible last year...........til I discovered the XP 820 fly tags. The flies just disappeared! :banana: :banana: Using them again this year, will switch next year.
These tags have absolutely changed my life, I was constantly spraying and dealing with rubs, none of which worked. I put two tags on the back of each cow's ear, one per calf.
Oh, and if one or two cows don't come in, no problem, the other tags cover them, no flies on them either.
These tags are just amazing. Another good thing about them, not a single one of the first-time applications got infected, usually I have a few, but not with these for some reason.
