I was really proud of him..I learned abit more about how a border collie works and functions...alot different then my heelers did! This dog lives to work, it is utterly cool to watch. so much for a shelter dog nobody wanted..he got to put his knowledge to work the other day when we had to get one of the ewes out of the herd..husband was impressed.

Kate went too, she is definantly very weak to her left..but its good to know..I dont know if working will ever be her calling..she likes agility abit better I think. I did get her circling really nice to the right though. funny, she got extremly offended when the boogie bag was used on her..she quit working and sat at the gate. she is definantly alot different, personality wise, then Fletcher.

Hope to get him going on cattle soon.

And I dont think we can officaly label him a workin' dog..how many workin dogs get to ride IN the tractor???

A lot of them. Companion when not working and riding along to where the work is to be done. The neighbors rode on the bqack of the ATV all the time and was always the first one in the tractor. She's gotten old neough now that she's pretty much retired and has to be lifted in and out. Doesn;t matter since most of the time she just lays by the bulk tank and dreams of when she was young

he has the herding instinct bred in him thats for sure.an he sure looks good working the sheep.

Dun, around here, they may get to ride in the truck..but not the tractor..this dog KNOWS when that tractor starts up and he about pesters you to death til you let him up..I mean runs circles around the tractor..

He is a companion too..moreso then my husband wants. He passed his therapy dog international evaluation 2 weeks ago...nothing bothered him and the evaluator said he would make an excellent TD due to his disposition...go figure. :) He'll get to go to nursing homes and schools and the the like once I finish his registration.

Bull, he sure does..I would love to find out where he was bred and what his lines are.

Just wants to be where the action is/may be. Get's aggravating I know, but if he's needed he's there and ready

that is exactly it..hes the same way with the truck..loves going.

Ive never had a dog want to ride in the tractor before..Kate wont have any of that, she'd prefer to be on the ground.

we have a small herd, but still difficult to work without help. our aussie loves to run, and he's very good at herding. saves me a lot of work! i don't know what we'd do without him. also, if i look like i'm headed to our truck he runs over and waits for the command. he prefers to run when i get in the tractor. he also runs over to the stock tanks when he's been busy and loves to jump in and cool off. another thing he does that we like is he will stay with our grandkids when they're playing around the farm. the kids will jump on him and pull on him and generally torment the poor thing, but he just sits there and let's them do whatever they want. don't know what we'd do without him.

I think the whole Fletcher story is awesome, I bet you are glad you kept him around - he's a lucky boy.

He is a good boy...:)
And like you nentioned faz, the kids at the soccer field maul him when I take him..and he loves it..any attention, he is there.

Ole Rube will go lay down under a tree and watch the tractor go back and forth, the second it changes rpm's she is up.
Crank up the mule and she is on the seat next to me, ready for what ever we might get into.

funny how they know..ole' Fletch loves going for rides..you cant get him out of a running tractor..if it's running, he's staying in it.
