All I got was the smoke. Plenty of it too. Lots of acreage went up to the south. Two homes to the north. The emergency sirens were activated. My eyes are swollen.
 
those was some pretty bad fires up your way.i seen pics of them on the news just rolling though the pastures.
 
That 6000 acre fire was just south of me. We dropped the hay lift and hooked up to the big disc just in case. I almost cut a swath just in case but it is so dry the wind wou have taken a foot of top soil. All the cows were moved to the river pasture. The smoke was really thick and choking. Ash was blowing thru.

Those were some serious wind gusts fueling it on.

Head about some fires over in your area and wondered if you were affected. TV only pics of a big one up around Jacksboro. Said smoke from it was showing up on radar. lol. Glad they missed you :nod:

CB we had 9% humidity on Friday with 45 mile wind gusts. I'd say it was 30 MPH sustained.

It is simply amazing that this did not get worse than it was. My hat is off to the fire men, dozer and maintainer operators, helicopters and air support. They threw everything they had at it early because they knew it was going to be bad (red flag warnings had been going out). Although thousands of acres went up, they saved a lot of structures and homes. It was an organized effort through and through.

We have been under the "red flag warnings" several days now. We need some rain and less wind.
