Finshing Cattle on Hay

Just a quistion i've been wondering. Instend of like finshing cattle on pasture or corn/feed what about putting in a lot and feeding like 10-12% pro. hay with small amount of supplement could you finsh out steers (sure you could). Not talking the price side but lets say time. Would they have a ADG as pasture finshed steers, and what would marrbeling be like, or mucsling. Just a thought :?:

I can tell you I have 11 weaners above the house at the moment. Smallest 5 months. One at 6 months Most are 7 months. One at 9 months and one at 12 months.

I am going through a round bale a day with them. How much is your hay you are thinking going to cost you?

No grass here at the moment as dead due to frosts. Those weaners are sold and going on Sunday. At least 9 of them are. I will keep 2 of them.

They will have been weaned for 2 weeks and have Bazadais in them and Bazadais are advertised as being able to be finished on grass.

They are able to graze as well, but as I said not much there for them at the moment.
