Nice. What did you get him with?
16 gauge loaded with double aught.
By range finder 52 yards, five out of eight pellets hit the right front shoulder.
Dropped him Black Flag dead .
Fell off the bank right into the branch, biologist aged him at 7 scored 130 .
That’s a big 8 point in east Texas.

Very cool.

I'm a big believer in the high shoulder shot. It lights out if you get one in there.

Nice buck.
I do a lot of hunting but not much shooting.
A couple of weeks ago I shot a big 8, and didn’t find it, it was about 18” wide tall and heavy, I messed up and didn’t let him get broadside, he was angling pretty good.
I’m usually a really good shot, being a bow hunter most of my life, a rifle is a chip shot, but I messed up on that one.
That was on my Leon County ranch, I’m going to hunt the ranch in Burleson county this weekend, and head to the Coleman ranch to hunt thanksgiving.
I’m taking the grandsons, they are going to do the shooting this time.
