I can't remember the last time we got 2" of rain. Rained all day yesterday slow and steady. The creeks aren't running but it'll grow some grass.
Be careful with question, even more careful with the answers you get... "Rain" seems to be the trigger word for a gaslighting technique. People will say that it's what you call water that falls from clouds to quench the ground, fill stock tanks and make grass grow. Can you believe that?!!!!! Once they convince you it exists, they'll be able to make you believe anything! Beware!rain? what is this "rain" you speak of?
that is a tall story even for texas. hmm. think i might have known him.I was on a wildfire years ago near San Angelo TX and an old guy (80's)on the fire department said he wished it would rain. Said he seen it once but would like for his grandson to see rain.
Oh, pretty sure it was a tall tale. But it sure was dry.that is a tall story even for texas. hmm. think i might have known him.
I'm one county over from San Angelo and that man sounds like my grandfather.Oh, pretty sure it was a tall tale. But it sure was dry.
That was all down in the valley. They had places getting like 15-20" .I heard that southeastern TX has had something like 14 inches of rain... about half their normal YEARLY amount??? Flooding and several people have died....???? And the parts of NC that were hit so bad by the flooding are now being threatened with out of control wildfires...
The weather is really crazy lately...
We are extremely dry here... Burn bans been in effect with the excessively high winds and dry ground... several wildfires that they have managed to contain but they got going fast and burned several hundred acres ... more burning in NC now... we have a smoke "watch".....
You don't get much less than we do. Wouldn't know it from the pictures though lolHere 10 inches is about normal. 14 inches in a year would be a real good year. Of course it is not so much about the volume but the timing that is important.
During the drought about 15 years ago they were talking about farmers burning the needles off of prickly pear in the 50's to feed cows. I was looking at the dried up cactus that had turned purple and brown and all shriveled. This drought must have been far worse than theirs.Oh, pretty sure it was a tall tale. But it sure was dry.
