I am getting a new Cattle Chute this week, A Filson XLT w a manual head gate with an AI/Palp extension. $2,200 complete price good deal from what I have priced so far, I compared it to a Powder River unit and it is almost half their cost.

?? is this a good unit and is it better to mount on a slab or on the ground or SUGESTIONS welcome. I am getting the trailer kit with it also, I will not have a permanent place to put it until sometime next year.

thanks in advance.

There was some discussion on the slab bottom for squeeze chutes a week or two back, lot of opinoins there. I like WW chutes personally.

Don't know much about Filson equipment. Went to their web site. Hard to tell from the pics on their web site. $2200 for a chute, headgate, and palp cage, seems like a good price though. I'd have to see one to know.

Priefert makes a good one, but will be much more expensive than 2200

I don't personally care for the powder river equipment, but it is usually less expensive than priefert.

Good luck and congrats on your new purchase

We looked at both filson and preifert. Ended up buying a priefert for a little more money and IMO made the right choice.

i just finished pricing preifert chutes. they are all $3800 with the pap cage an the trailer.as of 3 days ago.scott

We bought our Priefert a few years ago and got the chute w/ headgate and palp cage for $2200 the same set up for filson was $1700.

I have a Filson crwoding tub, alleyway, and squeeze chute that I bought a few years ago. There are some changes I would make but overall a good heavy duty unit that has been worth the money I aid for it.I have my chute on a slab with scale bars under it. ;-) :cboy:

Put it on a slab and under a shed. Gets awful cold trying to A.I. in the rain in January! You'll be glad you did!
