Every town has some kind if festival what do ya'll have in your neck if the woods?
Court Days is definitely something to see. 1000 people trading guns is why i like it. Plus lots more. Here in Winchester Ky, they have the Daniel Boone Pioneer Festival.
Stanton has a Corn Festival, Mt Sterling has Court Days, West Liberty has Sorghum Festival, Beattyville has Wooly Worm Festival, Paintsville has Apple Festival. There's a bunch more too.
A town in the county next to where my wife is from in Oklahoma has a Bigfoot festival.
When is it?Court Days is definitely something to see. 1000 people trading guns is why i like it. Plus lots more.
Let's go!3rd weekend in October i think
I’m less than 20 miles from there and haven’t been. Have been to the one at Preston a few times. I appreciate it quite a bit, there are more people trading and carrying around guns and critters than most people will ever see.Court Days is definitely something to see. 1000 people trading guns is why i like it. Our county has long held a "Tobacco Festival", which became the Rural Heritage/Tobacco Festival with the demise of tobacco growing.
In reality it is more like a carnival than a celebration of rural values. I avoid it like the plague as it makes driving through town nearly impossible.
Trail of Tears Pow Wow was last weekend here (Hopkinsville KY), but I don't know that I even heard any promos or commercials about it... but I almost never listen to the Hoptown radio station anymore.
Trigg Co. Country Ham Festival, right 'next door', in Cadiz, is coming up in about a month.

In at Baker they have the Miner's Jubilee in July. The one and only time I went they had the big park in town covered with vendors selling cheap junk. I saw nothing about the gold miners. Maybe they are celebrating those who got rich selling cheap junk to the miners for high prices.
Sounds like our Rabbit Festival. Nary a rabbit, no pictures of rabbits, no talk about rabbits. Mid May each year and it's already hot as hades, long lines and parking far off. Cheap Chinese junk, high priced nasty food truck snacks, and carnival rids. There is a little music, (very little,) by local groups but it's mostly just taped music. In at Baker they have the Miner's Jubilee in July. Are ya going?
