I didn't get fertilize down on some of my ryegrass.
It's now about 3" high.
Can I broadcast some commercial fertilize on it now without "burning it?"

I don't plan to graze it till late December.

Mine is the same I put out 175 lbs 33-0-0 yesterday. I've done that for the past 5 years without burning mine .

Good to go....what you going to use?

24-12-24+11%S at 200 lbs/acre. Pelletized. I didn't get it out before it started raining tho--I'll have to wait a few days now.

Welcome to the pain of trying to grow ryegrass in se Texas. With the amount of moisture we are getting you will only get one shot at fertilizer, so keep that in mind. I think yourb on sandy soil there by the river, so thats a plus. You gonna strip graze it or just turn em out. If this rain continues be careful they dont bog it out.

I always wait til it's up about 2 or 3 inches and before a rain put out 100#/acre. I did this Sunday PM and got a soaker Monday. Just right. I plan to put out the next hundred in February depending on how it looks.
I only have 6 acres so I use sack 33S-0-0 @ $30/100#. If I had acreage I would go with bulk.
A new one for me, the 33S-0-0 contains 12% sulphur. The dealer said that if I bought the usual 34-0-0 I would have to fill out papers, required by some federal agency. I guess it is a bomb deterrent.
It all cost the same, so I figured I probably need the sulphur since we no longer have acid rain. I definitely don't want to go on any gov't list as possible bomb maker.
