Last year I fertilized and planted common burmuda grass. This yaer I would like to spray something to get rid of all the flowere and trash a feed the Burmuda. Any suggestions?

Best thing to do is to figure out what type weeds you are dealing with first. Many of the early spring or winter weeds will die with the heat. Next thing to do is to take a soil sample and go from there. No need in doing anything until you know what you true objectives are. Spraying for the sake of spraying or fertilizing just for the sake of fertilizing doesn't pay.

Good advice Jogee. I'd take the results of the soil samples to the local dealer for advice. Many of those old timers know more about your land than you do. The place I lease has been fertilized by the same old man for 30 years prior to me leasing it.

Weed killer also kills the good stuff. My own pasture is so full of clover varieties, vetch, and blue bonnets right now that I don't want to kill since they add N to the soil. Some of it is being grazed and some of it isn't. I am going to try and get my timing right with the mowing and then evaluate the unwanted stuff. Prolly just spot spray with some 24D

My ph was a 6.5 last year when I did a soil sample. I don't rememder what I used last year but they no what I bought at the feed store. Is it a good idea to mow defore the wild flowers or after they die down.

If you are sure the wild flowers/weeds are trash, mow them before they make a seed head.

and figure is the cost worth the expense. The only time I spend money on mowing or herbicide is if I have an invasive noxious weed that I don't want overtaking my pasture.
