Probably area specific but I was wondering how many pounds per acre you apply for hay and how much for graze. I am putting 300 #s of 25-3-9 for hay and 200 #'s for grazing. $ 349.00 a ton
fertilizer how much?

Everyone thanks for the replies. I had a soil test and this is what they recommended ( county ag agent) what I was asking not very well is how many pounds per acre for graze and how many for haying?
The same. If you know how much your hay removes per ton you oculd add that amount into the pasture fertilzer based on the yeild you have gotten, i.e. the hay removes 10 pounds of N, 2 pounds P and 6 pounds k per ton. If you get 2 tons per acre of hay pulled off you could put on and additioanl 20 N, 4 P and 12 K per acre and try to get a bit a head. ( Numbers are just examples, don;t know of anything that actualy removes those amounts)

If you soil test was done at TAMU, they have or had something on their web site that will tell how much fertilizer needed for different forages. Example: We planted ryegrass and clover. Soil test gave recommended amounts and mixture for warm season grasses. Was able to get equivalent info for ryegrass and clover from web site. If you called they would probably help you over the phone also.
