I cleaned out the Kubota Sunday. Had to take it to work and was gonna drop it off at dealer to have a couple items fixed on recall . They couldn't get to it this week so I brought it back home . I took everything out and put it all in a specific place . Now my fence tester is gone. Everything else is where it should be. I have hunted for 2 solid hours this afternoon after I fixed the fence where some 2 week weaned calves decided they needed to tear out and get back in with their Mamas. I remember where I put things and can put my hands on something I put up 10 yrs ago . I remember little details like that. I sometimes loose things while I'm using them but never if I do something deliberate. I will go by Jeffers tomorrow and only on they
Carry is Gallagher . Is it any good?

This works just as good.

JL all my life I used that method or just used an Arc off of a post or web wire fence. Last year I bought the fault finder and It is a Time saver and leaves the guess work out of fence diagnosis. I will not be without one very long as long as my truck will make it to jeffers today. They are that much of a necessity. my lost one was a DARE brand but no one has them around here.

If we're talking about the elcheapo one.........That you ground one end, and hang the other end on the wire. Lights shoot from zero-10. I've had one forever, and it still works.

My box will flash from 0.0 to 19.9. Always wondered why my tester goes to 10. Don't even know what the numbers mean though.

No , I have a lite tester that cost around 10 bucks . They do not tell you where your short is at. If you ever get a digital fault finder one you will throw the one you have away .

Is this the one you are talking about?

We use that one, and can not live without it. Our feed store sells it for $80. Saves time taking you right to the fault. We also have the ones, like pictured above, that hang on the fence, placed where we can see them from the house.
We lost our first one, must have fallen off the 4 wheeler some how. We might find it one day....

What model is the recall on. I have two one rtv400 or 500 it is at the farm and my memory is not as great as needs to be. We also have a 1100 with the cab and ac/heat. My dealer is not the greatest on getting in touch about a recall.

I have the 400, I received a letter in 17 IIRC and it has to do with the steering shaft. Because i use mine everyday its just not convenient to take it in and leave it for 3 or 4 days . here is the notice

on my way to jeffers I stopped at fuller supply to get my vaccines and they had a speed rite tester . I told him if he would beat jeffers i would buy it. I did a quick review search and it seems like a good one

If I'm not mistaken, Speedrite is made by Stayfix, and the fault finders are exactly the same. We stock the Stayfix, and have had good results and good reviews from customers that bought them. Bball bought a couple, and was pleased with them. If they are in fact the same, I think you would be happy with the Speedrite.

Both are subsidiaries of the same New Zealand company..Tru-Test. They own Patriot as well, and a decade ago, had bought into a big chunk of Gallagher, but sold their holdings in it when it became apparent they would never be able to buy Gallagher outright. (same company makes Tru-Test scales.)

I have two of the Speedrite fault finders and could not be more happy with them. I keep one in my truck and one on the Ranger.

Im starting to like mine pretty good , It a little wonky to have to press the button every single time but i like it,

Still have not found my old one. But i'm narrowing down where it went , Saturday morning the neighbor brought my 3" x 30' tow strap back over . his dog drug it to his house , I found signs where he was under my barn so its possible he got it.

I love mine, and it is one piece of equipment I'd never be without. My fence goes 3 ways from the charger, and in 10 seconds I know which section has a problem. I couldn't guess how much time it has saved me.

My only complaint is they made the case green. Who makes a tool you use in a pasture green? Like they are trying to hide it. Orange is the right color.
