I have access to alot of cull pumpkins ( some split in half some smashed some with dings in them ) but not sure how to go about feeding them to cows ? do i need to cut them up into small chunks to help prevent the cows and calfs from choking or can i just throw them out in the field ? thanks

WE enjoy smashing them a sledge...cows thank us by cleaning up every last one! We don't go overboard with them because there's nothing attractive about a cow with the "pumkin squirts"

I have a relative who has cattle and raises hubbard squash. Watched years ago as he fed extras to the cattle. They would push down with their mouth and break them open. Not sure how long it took for them to learn that - toss some out and see what happens - hopefully in a clean area or feeder.

As the crazy gal said, might want to go easy on them until their system adjusts. Smaller amounts more often are better than alot all at once.
