January 1 brought about -24 with a wind temps bringing it close to -30C. It was feeding day. Thought to share some pics
feeding in the home pen spreading some hay down for the cows to pick through and eat what they want and bedding for the rest. This hay is not great in quality and we are light on straw, so hubby uses the roughage for bedding
Here hubby is feeding in one of the pastures our heifers use in the summer. It is about 7 acres and hubby moves them about so they can spread their weath on the pasture rather than us doing it. They might as well work for their feed. He will be moving them to another paddock next week. There, there is more bush for shelter when the January cold snaps hit
Here hubby is taking the bales from the hay yard to the winter feeding area. That bush in front will be the January and Febuary feeding area.
