Got tired of cows pushing the feeders everywhere.
Alittle concrete seems to have fixed the problem. ;-)

Before the cement I would have drove some posts in the ground, cemented them and drill some big bolts into the posts so the feeder is a couple feet off the ground to keep them out of it then it would be a pretty sturdy scratching post, hopefully the cement works out for you.

I have to use something to move all of mine around if I did that.

I'm thinking all you've done is make it harder for yourself to move the feeders. I seriously doubt the concrete is going to even phase the cows.

Wait until they step on the edge and trun the whole mess over.
We had a bull that would flip a old 100 water tank that we used as a feder over on his head and throw it around. We now use a feed bunk set up and don't waste as much feed.

That looks like a nice lil set up -- what size are the green barrels that you used? 50 gal?

Barrels were about 35 gal...held vanilla. Have a guy near here that buys and sells all sorts of barrels. Paid 12.00 each

Wouldn't it be better to keep the barrels intact and use the open top barrels for this sort of thing? Any ideas Beefy?
