Would this be a good mixed ration to feed replacement heifers at 3% body weight to get a 2.5 ADG? Along with fertilized coastal hay.

30% milo
30% cottonseed
27.5% corn
5% salt
2.5% 12/12 mineral
5% molassas

Sid a little light on the limiter IMO them girls could go through a lot of feed. You can satisfy a cows nutrientional needs on 3 pounds of feed a day now you need another 27 pounds to fill them up.

Sid I feed a mix with 15% salt as far as what to cut back on I an not a fan of cottenseed. JMO.

i am getting ready to wean 5 calves in about a week needing to know what would be the best feed for them. CG mix with soyhulls at 50% or ground ear corn mix and if this what is best to mix with the corn. and what % protein do we want the feed to be. they will have free choice hay and mineral. last what would you recomand to do better the protien block or the mix30.

Trin I have my heifers on CLS about the same as mix 30, hay and a blend they make at the co-op called feed lot which is a sweet feed. I have them mix mine with 15 to 18% salt as a limiter and go up if need be. Feed lot consist of corn meal cracked corn and ground peanut hulls.
