I know it was on here before , but I was wanting to know what most folks use without going into alot of detail . I was about to change from the local Co-Op brand to maybe Copperhead , Sweetlix or maybe Right Now . Thanks in advance .

We use Nutrena. I can't tell you right off hand the specific type, but it works good for us and the cows love it! ;-)

Copperhead, made by Sweetlix, is what we use.Reasonable price, outstanding results.

I bought the Nutrena Range Balance 12-12 minerals. Cows wouldn't touch it. Finally, dumped it out. Pretty expensive at that rate.

Bought a local store mix at 12-6 mix. They eat it a lot better. I think the problem with the Nutrena was the 12% phosphous. I am told phosphorous has a bitter taste.

For those of you feeding loose minerals and who have donkeys running with your herd, do you have any trouble (health wise or other) with the donkey consuming some of the minerals?

We also have horses, but I normally keep them in a seperate pasture.

Will it hurt the horses? Bad question I know!

As far as the favorite mineral I had to quit eating it and the cows aren't talking to me today.

If it has bovatec in it or another coccidiostat it is harmful to horses and urea is also.

I was feeding Moorman's mineral, but the place I have to drive to get it is so far away. I compared the Co-op's mineral to the Moorman's and they were very close. I bought the mineral with the pink eye medication in it. The cattle clean it up.

we run a moderate size ET operation. Do maybe 12 flushes per year. Would any one certian mineral be better for our operation here in NC on sandy coastal plains .? of the copperhead , sweetlix and right now, which is the better.

We use a 12/12 that comes down from Canada, made just across the border in B.C. Mix it with the corn as the cows really don't like it free choice...
