At 4:30 this morning the phone ran, it was our nephew calling from the ICU where my husbands brother was . My BIL was playing football earlier that day (soccer) and he collapsed on the field . He suffered a massive heart attack, they were able to resuscitate him and get him into surgery where they cleared the blockage and inserted a shunt . Freddy is only 43 years old ,married and they have a set of twin 14 year old girl and boy and another daughter(our God daughter) 10. Hubby did speak to him briefly after surgery and things are sounding optimistic. Will not know anymore until later tonight. He was actually scheduled to come and visit us for a couple of weeks at the end of the month. :(

If you can find a moment to say a prayer for Freddy and his family it will be greatly appreciated  Everyone is really shook up as they lost Mr HD's mom to a heart attack when she was only 49 years old, so we are all a little lost right now .

Thank you all so very much .

Might be a good time to put a foot up Mr HD's rear end and get him in for a stress test!

For sure on the prayers, HD

Thank you so very much, Freddy's loved ones greatly appreciate the prayers and good thoughts as do I . It is times like these that make it so very hard on my husband being so far ,physically ,from his family. I know he wants to jump on a plane and rush to his brother's side, but responsibilities like work are put first. I think he will more than likely be going in the next couple of weeks when/if Freddy is released from the hospital and we know more.

3way hubby actually has had one done last year, he has a class 1 license and you need a complete physical to renew and his doctor suggested they do the whole nine yards given his family history. But, yes it is always at the back of my mind ,heart attack and cancer have taken many family members on my side at a young age so you always need to be proactive.

Mo he hasn't spoken to his father yet, I am worried about him as well, it must be very difficult to cope right now.

Thank you again ,you all are such a kind hearted group of friends. :)

Thank you wv mud river ,I gratefully appreciate that

I decided at about 3 o clock this afternoon, hubby is flying there asap. So I have a flight for him Wed ,now to convince him to go. We will know for sure once we get an update from Anja. No point in so soon if he is going to be sleeping all the time and still in the hospital. If not this week then I have a flight for him the end of Oct. for a couple of weeks.

Now to round up help for herd health, anyone want to fly out to Alberta for some R&R and cowboying . :lol2: :) :tiphat:

Thank you Jo, Anaz and RR . Hubby is booked on a flight for the NL's Wed morn . We heard from his wife that things are not going that well . The Dr's cannot regulate his heartbeat so he is still in ICU and needs more tests done.

My husband is so very gratefull for the prayers as I am too.

Will keep everyone posted as we hear more, hopefully it is good news ..

thoughts an prayers being sent for texas HD.i know this is very hard on your hubby right now as well as you.good luck working the cattle, may it go as smooth as a babies bottom.

Thanks fellas :D BIL is doing better but still not a regular rhythm ,however he is stable enough that they moved him out of ICU ,so that is good news.

I tell you ,organizing an overseas trip in 2 days is turning my hair grey and am ready to strangle you know who  I just hope that this is the end to all the drama this year revolving around Mr HD , and things will finally get back to normal when Freddy is safe and on the mend .

The good news is I just sold 250 bales of second cut alfalfa for $120 a ton ,so that will get me in the blk again as far as tractor repairs, and maybe a little to put away for future "crap happens" stuff . :cowboy:

miss HD if youd had that hay here in texas it prolly wouldve sold for $400 a ton or $150 a bale if its big sq or rd bales.

BB I would send you it for just the normal asking price around here ,but the shipping would kill you. It would probably cost 300 a ton just to transport it . Heck the bales I bought in 09 cost me close to $30 a bale to get here and they only had to be transported 100 miles .

Sure hope you get some rain before your growing season is over . :(
