Carried a brangus cow. (our one an only) and her 3 week old calf to the sale this morning. If you’ve ever been thankful to get rid of one she was it . Always raised a good calf but this one was a dink . She wasn’t milking very well . Not sure of age or leaving her last calf on her a little long or what ? Tried bottle feeding her calf for the last 2 weeks but it was a fight every morning . Getting them in the lot . Getting her out , and getting him to take the bottle. Which he sucked the bottom out once he cooperated. Too much trouble with her attitude. Loading went perfect , her in the front cut and him on the back . The crew at the sale barn was warned and deemed her an idiot ! No bids on the pair so they sold them separately. Prices were down but I was happy what they brought.

Good Lotd looking after me . The guy that helps me on the farm when my son is at work usually sleeps late . Can’t hear himself fart so you can’t call him unless he’s up . Just happen to be coming down the road about the time I turned in the gate . Calf usually stayed under mommas feet but this morning I got her in the chute and separate from the calf . So Donald closed the rear gate on the trailer and then we got her in the front . Calf went on the back and I was on the road .

I will tell her that. Not everyone is perfect like we are ;)
My question is even if you have zero cow experience, do you have no sense fear or some thing is wrong? No survival instinct at all?

I think we have all had situations where the hair stood up on on kneck or made us uneasy and didn't understand why?

I seriously wonder how people like that make it through life.

I do blame a lot of it on phones. It distracts them from the world around around them and even their own instincts or feelings at times.
HA! That may be part of it for sure. They look at the cow in the field and think... "Oh man, I might need to stay out of that cow's way." But looking at the screen as they are filming they have gotten comfortable thinking they are safe, and have forgotten they are still in the pasture with the cow.
