This article is a little long, but well worth the read and could be inspirational for those of you who are into cross breeding and exotic breeds.
As you will see Mr. McFadden had a goal.
As I am considering cross breeding, could some of you cross breeders enlighten me as to your goals through cross breeding?
Thanks
No pun intended as today is Sunday.

Go to the "Breeds" board. It is down below this beginners board. The top thread is a sticky that doesn't slide down the page. It is titled "two way and three way cross explained".

There are 7 or so pages. Pretty good reading but you have to sort some of it out.

Also there is a search engine at the top of the forum. It works pretty good. Some really good cattle folks have contributed good information thru the years.

3WayCross posts here.

Most all of us running commercial herds cross breed in some form or fashion.

Welcome to the forum Jerry!

I agree with what BHB posted lot's of discussion on this subject on here. I like most commercial guys am cross breeding. All my cows are Angus cross. Most are brangus. I have some simmiangus and some bwf's. I have a polled Hereford bull on them. My goal is to raise white face heifers to keep. I was able to see the cow that the bull is out of and she had what I want in a cow. I also like the docilness the Hereford brings. So far I'm very pleased. Especially with the heifers coming from my brangus cows.

Thanks all for the additional sites, but I am familiar with the math and concept.
What I am more interested in is answers like Deepsouth provided.
“My goal is to raise white face heifers to keep.”.
Thanks all
