Anyone follow The Cussing Farmers on Facebook? Kinda comical but he has lots of good points. Common people but good ideas.
Swear the smart brother reminds me of my uncle Bobby in every single way. Bobby lives for mechanic'n and electronics instead of cattle. Same energy, cadence, resting B face, and willingness to teach. Quite the combo they are.

He's funny and makes some good common sense points. Last one I saw he was talking about how people are breeding heifers at 600# and stunting their growth. He said he likes his to calve at 3 years old. He had some good points as to why.

I like my heifers to calve around 28-30 months. I find they are more settled and are more ready to be a "mom"... also, I like the bigger size. The ones we have calved younger/smaller, usually do not get the size as mature cows. So that is our preference... Knock on wood, we don't pull calves.... couple of breech ones and one with a front leg back ... maybe 3 times in 20 years??? The 2 that were breech was simply to hurry it along so the calf was born live, not hanging in the fluid inside...
