I need to upgrade to an newer Truck. I have looked at a F150 2013 187,000 miles. 4 x4 XL. Good body and interior near perfect. Th dealer bought through the auction and it belonged to an energy company from Okla. 5.0 Coyote engine. $11000 opinions on this truck good engine. Lot of miles is there at least another 100,000 in it. Is that price to high. Extended cab.

My cousin is a general manager for a large Ram dealership. He said now is a bad time to buy. There is a lack of vehicles nationwide which is driving demand and prices up, used car values (blue books) have increased due to low inventory nationally. That price is high to me

Seeing that here as well. No incentives to speak of.

NADA pricing on a truck like this is from $14000 to $19000. Gonna have to do some more checking as why it is not in that range.

I bought a F-150 truck a few years ago that was least from an oil company, it was used to go to oil sites and collect samples. The truck was two years old and only had 100k miles. That truck was wore slap out, i did sell it and made a profit. I would pass on the truck if it were me, it will nickel and dime you to death. I would look for something with less miles and not owned or leased for a work truck.

The new F150 is rated to tow 14,000lbs lol

I was looking for a pickup and the prices are up from what they were just a few months ago. I found F150's with just a little over 100,000 miles priced from 15,000 to over 20,000. Kept doing searches on cargurus.com, cars.com, and a couple of others. I was looking at both Ford and Dodge. I ended up getting a 2017 Dodge regular cab pickup with about 38,000 miles and I ended up paying less for it that what older pickups with more miles were priced at.

Prices seem to be all over the place too!

but would you?

Low cost 1/2 ton pickup would be a Ram 1500 Classic regular cab. Old body style still being made and a few thousand cheaper than the new body style. You can find a 2019 model with around 10,000 miles for $23 to 24,000. With the 5.7 engine 2WD. I can't see spending $40 to 50,000 for a half ton truck. But I am cheap.

If you believe that a half ton will tow 14,000 pounds, do you believe it will stop with 14,000? Even with an F350, I have more trouble getting stopped than getting going. Not brave enough for 14,000 pound load with a bumper trailer on a half ton.

Trucks are a pay me now or pay me later item and you never really know what it really cost you until you sell it. Buy a new one or at least stay below 60k miles.
