Good thread ~ alot on prevention, but KNERSIE has a cure on the first page and there are some others in there. I do not recommend the shot in the eye deal, sounds like too much potential to do more harm than good. I have had it with my goats and find that if you treat early, its fairly easy to get rid of. They sell all cures OTC at the vet clinic or a feed supply store. viewtopic.php?f=7&t=47535&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&hilit=pinkeye
I planned to get him up last night but got home to late. So I went out early this morning to get him and he looked almost fine. Upper lid swelling was gone, swelling below lower lid was almost gone, and I didn't see any drainage or other stuff coming from the eye. I irrigated it anyway though. Thanks for the suggestions
Just an update. The infection came back and also showed up in 3 other calves. Treated everybody with 22mL of Duramycin 72-200 (generic version of LA200 at half the price). Everyone looked fine 24 hours later.
