I have an angus heifer due to calve in the next couple days. Looking at her udder this am and noticed an extra teat. I have seen smaller extras on the back of the udder, but this one is of normal size, and between the front and rear quarter on the right side. Does this have the potential to be a problem?

Unlikely to be a problem... Chances are that extra teat will be significantly smaller when her udder fills the final bit prior to calving. Rather late to do anything about it anyway.

that extrea teat shouldnt be a problem, its not in the way.if it fills out the calf may try sucking it as well as the other teats.an it may even fill with milk if its a mature teat.

Not a big deal unless your trying to put a milker on her
We had a dairy cow a few years back that had 6 teats that worked, she didnt stay long after calving, too much of a pain in the a** to change the milker over

We have a cow with 5 teats right now and she milks out of all of them. We won't keep anything out of her but she sure raises a nice calf and usually has boys which is nice because we have had a lot of heifers last year.
