What the crap. Have you looked at the price of a cap lately? I'm not inclined to wear a cap. They just don't feel right to me. I guess if I was wired to wear one, I would feel differently. They've gotten outrageous. It's $30 plus bucks for a ball cap. On top of that, your paying for advertising.

don't understand the advertising part,, tractor supply, John Deere, and a few others are really proud of it...

I go through 3-4 caps a year and receive about a dozen for free. Got boxes of them in the closet

I usually get lots free but bought one today that reverses from Camo to Blaze orange. $14 Needed the orange for bear hunting and will never wear it otherwise.

Yeah caps are expensive but I rarely go anywhere without one. I don’t like the mesh ones they pull my hair so I buy the more expensive ones. When I was around rodeo I use to get a bunch for free.

Same here. I try to stay caught up by giving them away myself. I get one on my head that I like I may wear it til my wife throws it away when I'm not looking. Some are probably expensive but most are made in Vietnam or Bangladesh and pretty cheap.

I cannot get by without one - so I get lots for Christmas.

Hard to believe they have gone up that much.

Cheers

Used to be about all the agricultural places handed them out about this time of year, I reckon a lot have tightened up. Stockyards is about the only place I get a free one anymore. Sometimes cattle meetings have some donated from various sponsors as door prizes, might end up with one that way once in a great while. Kind of goes against my grain to buy one, but lately have been getting a couple from the Angus and Hereford Associations. For hats to work outside in the winter, i like the insulated Carhartts with ear flaps, they ain't cheap, but last a while.

Ya I make people pick out a hat and take it home every time they come to my house. Most that are given to me are too small. I like all the flex-fit hats.

I also get lots of free hats! Plus my employers wife runs a small embroidery business so I could probably get free hats with anything I want on them! (I have only asked for hats with the farm logo though)

I have to watch what I wear some times or I will look like a walking billboard between the hats, shirts, cups, pocket knives, etc.

What really sucks is when its a company I fired and don't care for but they have great hats. When you get one that is broke in and fits right its hard to just not wear it. :D

You all know why farmers and ranchers don't wear flip flops or Bermuda shorts? It is because feed, seed, and fertilizer companies don't give them away. I have a box full of free hats. And the wife is pretty good at sorting through them and tossing out the bad looking ones. Just got a new one last week from Simplot. They gave me a calendar too.

I don't think I've ever directly paid for one, that I can recall. Get plenty from the feed store, just gotta ask them. They will gesture toward the store room and they have a wall shelf full of them, take your pick. Tall, old school "trucker hats", low pro new style caps, some with the plastic tab/nubbins, some stretch, some velcro. Camo, flames, about all colors really, summer/winter. I dont care for the stretch, without turning it around backwards and looking like a dbag, you'll lose it running the lake/river.
