I read this in a letter to the editor.

Too many people don't comprehend that whatever you tax (labor, productivity, hard work, honesty, integrity, ingenuity, etc) you get less of, while what you subsidize (poverty, sickness, bad life choices, unemployment, manipulation, dishonesty, laziness, etc) you get more of.

The only thing I don't agree with in that statement is "Too many people don't comprehend..". I think everyone knows that, and some are creating a subsidy-society to rule society.

I would agree completely with the statement because most don't see the wrong as as long as its padding their pocket.

Agree with the statement unequivocally.
Do not agree that everyone knows it. I think a relative few know it. Many suspect it to be true because it is a logical mathematical conclusion. However, I believe most don't give any thought to the principles at all. Not out of malice, or even necessarily ignorance, just that we've been taught for millennia that we must care for the less advantaged. Then the progressive movement came along and convinced everyone that it would be so much better if gov't took on that burden. 100+ years later, with self enlightened politicians and privateers running the show....well, it's simply another logical mathematical conclusion.....
