Re: Bloomington Livestock Exchange to Host Rollover Calf Sale Fund-Raiser
on Location, and over the Internet
Noon CST – Saturday – February 2
9663 Co A – Bloomington, Wis. – and – http://www.cattleusa.com
Bloomington Livestock Exchange will host a rollover calf sale fund-raiser at 12 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 2, in Bloomington, Wis. The sale will be held during the afternoon break at the Greater Midwest Livestock Auctioneer Contest. All proceeds will go toward reversing USDA's OTM (over-30-month) Rule. A feeder heifer will be auctioned off, donated by R-CALF USA Wisconsin Membership Chair Kevin Kirschbaum. Bidding can occur on location, as well as over the Internet through http://www.cattleusa.com. Prior authorization is required for Internet bidding and can be obtained from the Web site.
Rollover calf sales are fund-raising events put on by R-CALF USA volunteers to raise money for the organization. Those who wish to support the efforts of R-CALF USA can bid on a calf, then donate the animal back so it can be auctioned off again and again, until bidding ceases.
R-CALF USA is a one-member/one-vote organization. Voting members must own cattle. Activities carried out by R-CALF USA for the benefit of the U.S. cattle industry are funded exclusively by the independent cattle producers who pay their membership dues and by cattle producers, main-street businesses, and other individuals who participate in and contribute to fund-raising events.
R-CALF USA works on various issues that affect independent U.S. cattle producers, such as country-of-origin labeling, livestock price reporting, animal health concerns, captive supplies and packer ownership of livestock, as well as various trade agreements.
