I read an amazing article in the Novenber/December issue of Farm Futures magazine. I thought I'd share some to you all. "They call it Closed-loop systems or "intergrated biorefineries," convert manure from cattle into methane to power an ethonal plant, and distillers grain left over from the ethonal-making process into cattle feed. While cattle or dairy cows create beef and milk, the ethonal plant creates fuel at a much lower cost thanks to the "recycled" power source (cow manure). If a plant doesn't need all the energy from the digester, it can sell to the local power grid, creating yet another profit stream." This is American ingenutiy at it's best! Plants in Ohio, Kansas and Texas are in development stage. They want to put the ethonal plant near a large feedlot or Dairy.
