Well, the end arrived yesterday (April fool's day!) Last two were due on the 27th. One calved Sat, the 31st & one Sunday. BOTH were HIEFERS!! yeah!
Ended up with 19 bulls & 19 heifers. Lost 1 heifer born full breech, got out alive but didn't survive. Lost 1 bull calf week old - froze to death during Valentine blizzard.
And for those who read about "Stinky" he's doing great!!
Worked all breeding age thru chute Sunday getting ready to start breeding  Just got them OUT, now we're trying to put them back IN! That's the cycle.
Kind of a "let down" - not watching out the window anticipating a cow in labor - always anxious for a new baby.

Well Jeanne, you can live vicariously through me for a few more weeks. Last oct. I purchased 3 cows of undetermined breeding, bred by a bull who came through the fence, well, you get the idea.

Any, no idea of when any are due, but 2 days ago, the blond cow made a bag, this morning there was a bouncing baby bull calf under the tree. Looks in great shape, and Blondie never even looked very pregnant.

I could get spoiled. Two more to go.

 you could come over and help me! I have 14 heifers
due the last of April, the older cows are popping them out daily!
We lost one cow and calf( uterine prolaspe-- cow died as vet was pulling in the drive) :( So far, no bottle babies! :D
I hope the heifers do ok!!!!! :P

To bad :( We have a Winter storm warning going. I put the cows out on new clean ground. Lot of trees for some shelter. Anyway with a half dozen real close I'm going to be busy. To bad you so far away. :P

wow, nothing like a 50-50 split on the sex huh Jeanne?
Yep, we all like the anticipation of the calves dropping, I guess thats why I got some that calve in the spring and some in the fall. But then, its always good to watchem grow after their born.

Well, I could help out for the next two weeks, than it's back to heat checking (which I do daily now to get an idea who's doing what).
Love watching them run & play. They have finally figured out they can go under a 1 strand wire & get into an open - non muddy field. Boy do they get running & playing. Love it!
We've been having 50-60 days - calling for high of 33 for next 5 days with severe wind & lake affect snow  I don't mind the cold & snow - just hate it inbetween 60 degree days!
